Dr. Prabhat Goswami was invited as a visiting professor by the North Eastern Institute of Science and Technology (NIEST) located in Jorhat, India during an October 2015 visit. The NIEST is a multidisciplinary research institute of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India. Dr. Goswami was hosted with traditional North Eastern Indian culture and fare. Dr. Goswami presented his research on free radicals in aging and cancer in two separate seminars titled “Natural products in health and disease” and “A redox cycle within the cell cycle: ring in the old with the new.” Dr. Goswami is fostering collaboration with the Natural Products Chemistry Division focusing on the repurposing of the antimalarial drug artemisinin for cancer therapy.
