Jyung Mean Son won a 2016 Graduate College Summer Fellowship through the University of Iowa’s Graduate College. The graduate college provides a $4,000 stipend towards the expenses of the student’s summer fellowship in order to allow them dedicated research time over the summer Juyng Mean will spend her summer working in Prof. Goswami’s laboratory. Work will focus on her doctoral dissertation research, which validates a role of mitochondrial dynamics regulating the age-associated metabolic reprogramming from glycolysis to mitochondrial respiration in normal human dermal fibroblasts.
