Mekhla Singhania and Jeffrey Stolwijk, students associated with the FRRB program, are members (indeed officers), in the Association of Multicultural Students at the University of Iowa. This graduate student led organization seeks to promote the “...advancement of diversity and inclusion within biomedical sciences by supporting individuals from groups that have historically been underrepresented in biomedical research and science”. Jeffrey is one of the co-presidents and Mekhla is the Professional Development Chair. New members are encouraged to join to broaden their student experience and meet fantastic people.
