Mekhla was one of four students chosen to present her research at the annual Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center retreat held at the Hyatt Regency on June 14, 2023. The title of her research presentation was "Enhancing therapuetic responses of Pharmacological Ascorbate using iron-oxide nanoparticles in NSCLC." Additionally, she presented on "Workplace burnout" at the SFRBM  "Meet the Trainee Council" event held during the retreat
