The Howard lab and Emily Witt (Byrne lab) received excellence in safety awards from the Laboratory Safety Committee of the Environmental Health and Safety Office. Emily was recognized as an individual recipient and the Howard lab as a research laboratory as a whole. Emily is responsible for overseeing safety in both the Theil and the Byrne labs a factor recognized by the safety committee, while the Howard lab was commended for their year-round safety advocacy.
